Haha okay replied before I read the whole thread. Either way: As long as they never remake the masterpiece known as "sympathy for mr. vengeance"... |

It isn't a remake...... according to Herzog. Don't know why they kept the title "Bad Lieutenant" if it's not a remake (and it's definitely not a sequel). The same title, characters, concepts, and probably plot points seems to equal "remake" to me but not according to Herzog. So, okay. Also, a Western Battle Royale has been in the works forever. Should be hilarious. Did they give up on remaking Suspiria? Good. There are some good remakes: The Fly and Scarface come to mind right away. But remakes are usually pretty pointless. On the other hand, no one's forcing you to watch them. The original film is always there. And sometimes, a great film wouldn't have been seen by most people if not for the successful remake (see Infernal Affairs). |

Yeah, Oldboy's pretty cool. It's based on a manga and the film version has some stuff the manga didn't have, so..... I highly doubt the incest angles will be in the American version. Again, should be hilarious. I'll watch it on watch-movies.net when it comes out probably. |

Darren Aranofsky is supposed to be doing another Robocop movie. Not a remake, but a sequel. From what I read, the idea is that it's many years later and the Robocop program is being revitalized. This time in L.A., I think.
Personally, I'm excited by this.

I didn't even know they'd ever planned one. That'd be the most ludicrously doomed-to-fail project ever. I mean it's hardly a particularly interesting story. Quote:
I agree. I always thought Robocop was a great idea but wasn't that great a film. It would definitely be improved and would, if anything, benefit from the full-on Transformers-style CGI treatment. |
