Dates here: http://www.myspace.com/earthofficial
Glad they're playing in Leeds, I've never been arsed to travel to see them before. Are they good live? |

Definitely worth seeing. I've seen them thricely (and a fourth time in April) and it's always a good show. Having said that, they're not the brainmelting drone I was expecting (see Sunn for that).

I was supposed to see them open for Sunn in November (admittedly, I was way more excited for Earth), but they wound up canceling their entire US tour for some reason. I hope this means some American dates are in the making.

Agreed - Earth for me now are way more interesting these days. I saw them in their "drone" period in the mid-90's, and seeing a codeined-out Dylan Carlson playing lame drone-metal riffs did not put a smile on my face at all....

I missed out on Earth and THEE SIR RICHARD BISHOP just because they picked the one venue that was 18+! |

Have to say that when I saw them late last year they were tiresome and repetitious. Maybe I needed the codeine. Dylan Carlson was very nice and polite, though. Seemed like a good bloke.

I saw Sunn a couple of years back at Supersonic festival and loved the show.
Although I like alot of Earth's older heavy stuff I like the new Hex style alot more. New album hasn't had chance to really grow on me yet but it's still listenable. I will definetly be on something to make the show more enjoyable; the Brudenell is like a one minute walk away from my house too! |

Brunell is a great venue as well, I saw NNCK there a few years ago. Leeds is lucky to have that place, there's nothing like it in a lot of cities.

Yeh I saw Acid Mothers Temple there last November and it was one of the best gigs ever but me and a friend were going there to play snooker one night and we got jumped by a gang of six asians. So it would be better somewhere else in Leeds.

Does anyone know where the hell they're playing in Glasgow on the 19th of April?
Stereo, Nice n Sleazy's and ABC all reckon they're playing at theirs. I'm assuming they're not doing three shows in one night? |

Are they still as boring as 3-4 years ago? I saw them during the Hex tour and that has put me off of ever bothering since.
But as it happens I'll be at Roadburn anyway, so I'll probably check them out there if they're not clashing with OM or Skullflower etc. |

So has anybody seen a show yet? What kind of setlist are they doing?
I'm seeing them tonight, very excited. |

Wehn I saw them on the Earth/Richard Bishop tour supported by MV & EE (such a good bill!) it was pretty great, but I wasn't as truly blown away as I'd hoped. I think the main problem was that it wasn't loud enough. It may have had something to do with the fact that Northumbria uni is a fucking godawful venue. I thought they were kind of upstaged by Bishop actually. Don't get me wrong, it was a really good gig, but not much more than that.

my friend saw them about 5 years ago and said it was the best rock thing he'd ever seen, i was at the show but left early after earth spent an hour and half soundchecking before their set then i watched about 10 or 15 mins of them playing and it seemed pretty boring. i saw them a few years after that and they were ok, but i think neil young did that kind of stuff way better for the Dead Man soundtrack.
