I wouldn't, but I still like it a lot. There are four or five songs there that I haven't listened more than 6 times because I find them boring. Anyway it's definitely not shit. A matter of taste.

my Top 5:
1. Evol 2. Murray Street 3. Confusion Is Sex 4. Dirty 5. The Destroyed Room RR was my #1 of 2006. But not high on my all-time SY rankings. Though, I certainly rank it much higher than the majority of boardies. And "Reena" is one of the greatest songs of the last decade.

1. Bad Moon Rising/Daydream Nation
3. Confusion is Sex 4. EVOL 5. Sister After that, I have no idea. S/T would probably be next, but out of all their 90s and 00s albums I've heard, nothing stands out. I need to get ATL, I have a feeling that that would become my post 80s favourite.

It's not one of the best of SY's catalog, but it's not as bad as some fans make it out to be. I like it more than Experimental Jet Set, Goo and Dirty, and more than the pre-Evol albums (sorry, that stuff's just not my thing).
My top 5: 1. Thousand Leaves 2. Murray Street 3. Daydream Nation 4. Sister 5. Destroyed Room

Why not?
1)Daydream Nation 2)Washing Machine 3)Rather Ripped 4)Sonic Nurse 5)Evol With respects to Sister; I love the first SY EP but I won't compare it to their actual LPs. That's the general list. Sometimes I go through phases with the others (Not counting EJSTANS or NYC Ghosts and Flowers), but that top 5 is pretty definite. ~Jeremy~

1. Washing Machine
2. A Thousand Leaves 3. Goo 4. Murray Street 5. Sister This list changes all the time, but Washing Machine usually remains #1. RR is far from terrible, but definitely doesn't warrant a top 5 ranking. |

I prefer it to Goo and Sonic Nurse; put it on par with EJSTANS (similar in that it's enjoyable but lacks depth). I couldn't begin to consider it as one of my top-5 as Sonic Youth's first five albums are considerably better than it (but then, that is a formidable first-five-albums: genuine alt.rock classics - and Rather Ripped is enjoyable, not even aiming at that level).
