Huh. Well at the very least, this is unexpected. Between this and the new Flaming Lips, is "kind of Bitches Brew-y" set to replace "shoegazing" as the latest overused indie trend?

Apologies. I posted this at like 2AM having been drinking, and had just opened the youtube video in the background. I realise that in the cold light of day the resemblance to Bitches Brew mostly, well... isn't there. I just heard electric jazz stylings and trumpet. Still, what do we think?

Well, it may not be the cool thing to say on this board, and many of his tracks have damn sure been way overplayed, but hell, I really do love some of Sufjan's stuff. I'm aware that it's all gloopy and overly sentimental, but I just don't care. This new stuff though... I reserve judgment for now.
