I guess that is true.
to me punk broke because the ideals (lofty word for a mindset) were turned into an ideology. that shit happened way before 1991 right?

I think 79/80 was a huge start turning point for Noise though, with Merzbow, Hijokaidan, Whitehouse and many other "main" players erupting at that time.
And fucken, Punk really did hit big and hard in 76-77. I WAS THERE.

"Noise" has to be the lamest genre ever thought up by music hacks as a means to lump bands together. It's probably the most generic.
