Hey guys,
I'm just going to explain my post by saying that Earth 2 fucking bored me to death, I think it's one of the worst things I've ever heard and I don't really hate things without melodies, there are some drone bands that I really dig (Double Leopards, Emeralds, Boris, ...) but I listened to Earth when I wasn't that much into drone (basically, at the time, I was thinking that drone = boring). Now, maybe I should give it another try but seriously, from what I remember, it was just plain boring... PS: Yeah, I love Loveless now, I've recently discovered something really fascinating about it... It took me about two or three years to finally get this album but I don't know, I wanted to listen to it the other days and I found it GOOD.

It plays as one seamless 73min piece though, innit? I just adore the riffs in part 1, there's 2 main riffs I think, and riff 1 is revisited near the end of that part. Then a slower more drony riff dominates part 2. Then in part 3 we get an almighty drone, but wait....there's percussives in there....thrown in at random moments......this effect is jaring.....in a good way. It really is one of my 5 most cherished CDs. My only quibble is....I never found a recording of it that had real punch, volume-wise. Even the super lo freq re-release has to be turned up to 11 in order to get a good feel of it. It begs a remaster.
