If you mean Washington, that's a myth. He had one remaining tooth at the time of his inauguration. During his lifetime he wore dentures made of human (some his own), cow, or hippopotamus teeth, ivory, or lead, but he never wore wooden teeth.

First off, the myth is fine with me. Cherry tree myth as well. I have to admit, Hippo teeth are way cooler.
Myth is awesome though. Religion wouldn't get far without it, that's for sure.

OK, if you wanna get technical, John Hanson can be regarded as the first president. Then there would be Elias Boudinot (1783), Thomas Mifflin (1784), Richard Henry Lee (1785), Nathan Gorman (1786), Arthur St. Clair (1787), and Cyrus Griffin (1788).
