That's free market capitalism at its most robust. Either love it or git out.

Maybe it doesn't prove they're evil per se, but it does show that they'll never be satisfied. To me, that is evil. I guess I'm just reacting that way because Yahoo put it under "Walmart's plan to crush the competition". Maybe Yahoo are the REAL evil ones because they don't care how Walmart is already suffocating smaller businesses...

i don't see how uncluttering their aisles and aiming to take over some ailing retailer such as kmart (kmart!) is any kind of evil. Quote:
smaller businesses going toe to toe vs walmart? foolishness-- adapt or die. story of the world. this dude i know owns a restaurant which used to be a bakery owned by his parents-- when walmart came to town & started selling bread, did they cry & keep doing the same thing? no-- they started making sandwiches and serving coffee-- they've been in business for nearly 30 years now. things are always changing. anybody who deals with reality on a regular basis knows that. why is kmart ailing while walmart prospering? cuz kmart sucks and walmart (in the bigger world, hipsters notwhitstanding) doesn't. |

All we have to do to put them out of business is stop shopping there.
Pretty simple. I've never spent money in a Wal Mart in my life. Companies like this are only concerned with the bottom line; all you have to do is make it shrink and they go away. |

SC is correct. Problem is, they're cheap. So people shop there. I buy stuff there when I need to. Know why? Cuz they're cheap. It's pretty straightforward.

since they support universal health insurance, walmart is currently my friend and political ally. i bought some camping supplies there this past summer-- great prices, all in one place, no questions asked returns, blah blah blah. they even had fishing licenses. they are also the largest retailer of organic products in the US. on the other hand, i haven't set foot in whore foods lately-- their fucken right-wing CEO can rot in a pile of his own shit. |

Well, we'll see how long your camping gear holds up.
I gave major credit to Toro lawn mower co. for not caving in to Wal Mart's demand to produce a POS $100.00 lawn mower that would fall apart in one season. |

I just got back from shopping at Wal-Mart.
I go there at least once a week for groceries. |

it's coleman brand. sells all over. nothing fancy. $23 inflatable mattress-- cheap. the little propane cans are awesome, so is the stove-- boils agua in 3 minutes. the fishpole is small but good for beginners and for $20 comes with lures & shit-- crayfish love them (ha)-- the so-called "ugly stik" is supposedly unbreakable & has a 5 year warranty. the fishing license is good for a year. i dont have a lawn and i know nothing about those awful & noisy machines but yeah i believe in not compromising your brand. that's a business decision, however. it's just business. i personally think that lawns are fucked and toxic and wasteful, but that's just me. |
