"Honest James" is one of my favorite songs from Thurston, and I've spent many an hour trying to figure out what it might be about. It doesn't really matter, as I love the song anyways, even if I don't know what it's about. So, I was wondering if any of you on here have a clue what it's about, or what you think it might be about. Just a thought.
Thanks guys! |

I don´t know most of the Sonic songs, what they´re about...It was really interesting to hear some of the backgrounds of new Dust album songs, when Lee explained them in their gig!

Like alot of Thurston's (and Lee's for that matter) songs, I feel like it has a very specific meaning to its author, but is written in a way that lets it mean different things to different listeners.
They have a very specific quality that makes it feel like a life story, but its just vague enough to make it transferrable. It's a rare and beautiful quality that not many other song writers really have (Neil Young and Leonard Cohen jump to mind immediately tho) |
