So has anyone else heard this yet? It's streaming only for the rest of the day so the time is nigh but damn is it good. It just perfectly captures that great combo of grit, fun and psychotic that we've all come to love from mr.waits. I can't wait until he tours this record!

I love Tom Waits.
I can't listen to him for extended periods of time, but he's one of my favorite musicians. |

It was a big deal when he came to London some years back. Sold out in minutes. First time playing England in ten years or something. This was during the "Real Gone" era, which is probably my favorite Waits release.
Also, I never "can't listen" to him either. However, I also never listen to him for more than about an hour tops. He's one of my top ten artists ever though. |

Well, I also listen only one album of Waits by day. I was working in the office when Orphans came and I listened it through wholly. But it wasnīt real listening, because I have to also work. On the other hand, I very rare listen two albums non-stop from the same artist. Not even when I have periods when I want to listen the whole production of some artist. Anyway, I wait very impatiently this new album. I just put text message about it to my retailer, but he hasnīt aswered...Have you heard there is 12-page booklet in vinyl? (Iīm not sure do I remember the number of the pages correct). |

He was in Stockholm in Big time-tour. I think the concert was then also immediately sold out. Thatīs pretty close to me, so if he will come to Stockholm, I try everything to get there!
I love all his albums, but specially love albums after Heartattack and Vine. If I have to say some favourite, maybe it is Black Rider. But somehow I also think he seem to come even greater when he get older, I really love Blood Money, Real Gone and Orphans. Also Glitter and Doom live is just great! |

How about the albums before Swordfishtrombones (which is also very great favourite of mine, first album I bought)?
Mine is Heartattack and Vine and Small Changes. Nighthawks at Dinner is also very cheerful live album! I noticed a few years ago I donīt have the movie-soundtrack Night on Earth. Do you have it? If you have, is it as great as the "official" albums? I have that other soundtrack One From the Heart, thatīs ok. |

Finally I got it yesterday!
I have listened it twice now and I have to say it is just so very very great! Definitely the greatest album of the year! His creativity seem to be endless and his spirit seem to rise from album to album! And this came so right time, I was so depressed about that SY can split, but now I havenīt got anything to worry about as long as Tom Waits is alive and well and keep on recording! In my opinion Syr9 was the album of the year, but not anymore. In this today world, where is too much cold and/or alienated music (I think it is also recommended too much in SYG) it is very healthy that someone makes the music thatīs from the fresh, muddy ground! And that has the feelings from the real life! BTW that booklet has 16-pages. |

I like Blood Money, Alice and Rain Dogs. I've liked bits of other albums he's done, but he seems rather hit and miss at times.
And thanks for reminding me to check out his newest

To me he has never been hit and miss! But it is possible to you to like this one, because it reminds me more Blood Money or Rain Dogs than for example Real Gone. |

Just got my copy... love it. I've been listening to it online for about a week now.
This is not as good an album as Real Gone, which is one of my favorite albums of all time, but it is a very good record and is promising as a long term favorite. Speaking of pre-SFT albums, Are you into "Heart of Saturday Night" at all? That was my first exposure to him and I first heard it when I was about 9 years old. I love it, and still listen to it on occasion. |
