This is a tough poll because you can only choose one, but i'm trying to get an idea of what matters most to people here.
EDIT: Nevermind, I made it so you can choose more than one |

i'm not explaining anything, you can explain your own answers. Take the choices as they are.

Where is 'finding a husband'?
That concerns me more than any of that other boring trash.

Sorry, I'll add that next time.
Oh yeah, let's also say that if you choose more than one you should rank them in a post. |

I chose climate change, because environmental issues really concern me (I am a life long animal lover). Every thing I read about involving massive environmental destruction (like the tearing down of rainforests) brings me close to tears.

neither. I kind of exagerrated the close to tears thing. It's more like makes me depressed for a bit.

Wow. I don't even like animals that much and I'm a vegan. You're a cunt. You care about enviromental issues the most but you really don't give a fuck about them?

Malnutrition and Disease. America is not a microcosm of the world, so even though education and poverty are a big deal here, they aren't going to be extremely helpful in the big picture. A great education is not essential to solving the world's problems, though it may be essential in order to get into a position to be taken seriously. While I'd like to see the government, big businesses, and megacorps pitch in a lot more money, even then it doesn't seem like that much money is required. They just need to use it.
However, I don't give all that much to charity, so I could certainly do better. And I don't understand the economics of everything. I could be looking in the wrong place. |

I said war & climate change, because with war, it seems like people wanna keep fighting til there is no one left to kill, and climate change is gonna take quite the toll on the earth. so we need to take action on both these fronts, stop fucking up the environment and ourselves so that no apocalyptic things happen. i didn't exactly say it well, but you get the picture.

Well, I guess I would have to go with education, as it is the most personal issue. It is really the only one that affects me directly.

acousticrock,
Well, I have a degree in economics and I can tell you that you have the general idea. Malnutrition and disease pretty much hinder a society from advancing and thus create poverty. Education, however, is a key and the important key to lasting change. People must understand malnutrition and disease before they can properly deal with these things. I also believe trade barriers are important because they can connect the struggling world to the well-to-do world and allow for the exchange of ideas and the products and services of change. |

That's true. I guess what I meant about education is that we already have people who should be able to address that stuff, especially malnutrition, but we just don't seem to care enough about it to put their brains to maximum use. Though what you said makes sense - ultimately education is what's most important.

i beg to differ. i'm not trying to be a prick or anything, but that is a kind of small-minded thing to say. although it may affect you personally, with war and disease and climate change, they most likely will affect you personally at some point in yr life. with war, who knowns maybe things will get so out of control that people will start being drafted again, and climate change, fuck the worlds environment, and disease.. well, speaks for itself.
