Perhaps a little of an exaggeration their, alas, its hosting two exhibitions which I reccomend all you London dwelling sonic youths check out. First of all, running only until the 7th of September is a Richard Prince exhibition. This features his cover artwork for Sonic Nurse next to which their appears to be some sort of light fitting (??) signed by the band. There are also other originals from the Nurse Series, I beleive including Dude Ranch Nurse (don't quote me on that). There is also a massive canvas where text has been applied over a collage of literally thousands of images of the band.
After the Prince exhibition finishes Gerhard Richter of Daydream Nation fame will be exhibiting his 4900 colours series. The Serpentine is in Kensington Gardens and is short walk from Lancaster Gate tube station. |
