hey, I created a fantasy world cup group for anyone from the board who's interested.
it's at http://en.fifaworldcup.fantasysports.yahoo.com/ I can't figure out how to add people to it without doing it manually by adding each person by their yahoo id (can be set up and registered in 5 minutes) so if you wanna play post your yahoo id here and i'll add you ahh right, the group number is 17686 and the group password is ratherripped |

I'll have to get a 'yahoo id'. But it's impossible to do, as every single possible combination of letters and numbers appears to have been taken.

Damn Yahoo ID's...EVERYTHING is already taken.
On a related note, the US is up 1-0 on Latvia thanks to a great header from McBride. Second half is about to start.... |

So...you have to add us, right? Cause I can't find said group anywhere. By accident I joined a different group, and the players left to pick are Togo and Saudi Arabia players. AHAH. |

I'm from America too. The World Cup is only the biggest sporting event on the planet.

I know. Just satirizing my country's lack of interest in the world. Maybe it's just here, but I only hear about the Lakers and Yankees until the Olympics. Sad. I don't watch soccer, but only because I don't watch much sports at all.

this is a pretty funny pisstake of american soccer coverage 64 min: GOAL Mexico 0 - 2 USA. Two soccer points to no score! Eddie Lewis makes a cross-pitch play from the left zone, finding Landon Donovan alone in the danger area. He top-bodies the sphere into the score bag, and Mexico have a double-negative stat! |

Didn't quite read the whole thing, but that was funny.
89 min: The US are closing this one out. Their fans - and there are plenty in the stadium - have started to sing. Altogether now: Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd, Buy me some peanuts and Crackerjacks, I don't care if I never never get back, Let me root, root root for the home team, If they don't win it's a shame, For it's one, two, three strikes you're out at the old ball game! There is actually a commercial they are playing here that plays this song to highlights of the national team. EDIT: The game they describe was quite the occasion. |

Ha ha! I found a yahoo id - and it congratulated me, which seems appropriate.
