Hello,
thought some of you might be interested to know this. I was already going to it as one of my favourite bands Rivulets will be playing the same venue that weekend. But seeing Chris is an extra good reason to definitely go there. Not sure whether I'll be there all three days though. http://incubate.org/2011/artist/121/Chris+Corsano Date Time Venue Fri, 16th ??? -??? Paradox Sat, 17th ??? -??? Paradox Sun, 18th ??? -??? Paradox Chris Corsano already has a huge back catalogue of collaborations with past Incubate(d) artists like Massimo Pupillo from Zu, Six Organs of Admittance and Jandek. No wonder we’re absolutely delighted to have this legendary free jazz drummer to curate the whole weekend at Paradox. Corasno is known for his raucous, metallic, intense and complex noisy drumming, which will be suppored by various guest musicians. Free jazz galore all along the weekend! Artists within this project (some more may be added later as the full line-up for the festival isn't ready yet)

That is already a very exciting line-up without having to add more acts. Rivulets is wonderful too, i'm looking forward to listen to my copy of "INFINITE LIGHT LTD.", which hopefully i'll get in the mail really soon. It would be beautiful to have a chance to listen to some recordings in case you are able to tape some of those shows. Either way, i hope you have a lot of fun!

I will do my best to tape of course. There will be a new Rivulets album in August, it's called We're Fucked.
(or something very similar to that)

Corsano played with Joe McPhee at the festival I help organize here in Minneapolis just last month. Major talent. Super nice guy too, as is Nathan from Rivulets. That would be a tough choice, but the music is so different that mood should help with the decision when the time comes.

you're welcome :-) I indeed saw Rivulets twice in February, sill have one recording of it that needs to be shared. The other show I did not tape, but it wasn't very good [rant] due to some very annoying people shooting a documentary and constantly pushing me out of the way [/rant]. And I did buy the yearlings EP, don't think it will ever make it to Bandcamp. I assume those songs will end up in better quality on the new album. Those new songs are beautiful though, listen here for instance (only 4 and 5 are new though): http://soundcloud.com/hinah/sets/rivulets Hopefully I'll be able to tape Corsano on Friday (if he doesn't play at the same time as Rivulets) and Sunday. My current planning for Saturday is Rivulets in Utrecht. Hopefully there will be another taper on Saturday, rappard was thinking about going have fun abroad E!

Bump.
There are quite a few interesting recordings of some performances at past Incubate editions on their soundcloud page, sets by Rhys Chatham, Carla Bozulich & Massimo Pupillo, Six Organs of Admittance, Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat, Moon Duo... http://soundcloud.com/incubate Hopefully some recordings of this year's edition will be uploaded as well. |

Corsano-Flower Duo are simply devastating. I saw 'em supporting SY for one of the London DDN shows and they came on at the end for a 7-piece (w/Mike Watt) rendition of Expressway. Super duper fucking awesome.
