Lee Ranaldo (tbc) at Open Circuit festival in Hasselt - Belgium

This February the FatCat festival takes place at Kunstencentrum België.
Already listed but yet to be confirmed is a performance by Lee Ranaldo.

Following the success of our past 4 events, we can confirm news of a forthcoming FatCat Open Circuit mini-festival event at Kunstencentrum BELGIE venue in Hasselt, Belgium. Like last year's amazing show, this event will take place over the course of two nights - Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February, 2007.

There will be sets from a large number of FatCat artists and friends, including debut European shows for The Twilight Sad, Songs Of Green Pheasant, Silje Nes, Gang Wizard, Ensemble, and Welcome. There will also be sets from pianist / composer Hauschka (whose album is out on 130701 in February); Thurston Moore favourites, Gang Wizard; noise-drenched damaged rock from The Hospitals; gorgeous, pared-back songwriting from Nina Nastasia; plus a live audio / visual collaboration between laptop improvisers Antenna Farm and Semiconductor (whose DVD we will release in February, and who will also be screeining films during this event). There will also be a special project from Iceland's Múm (the details of which we will announce soon), and (still to be confirmed) a collaborative set involving Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Renaldo.

FAT CAT 'Open Circuit' participates with the Hasselt cultureweekend SHOTS: http://www.hasseltshots.be/ With confirmation awaited from a further few artists, there will also be a number of sets where some of the above artists will perform improvised collaborations together for the first time. The shows will take place in a number of different rooms within the venue, and there will also be a cinema room and installations. All in all, it should be an amazing event.

uff. i'm so tempted to go. would like to see lee's solo perfomance so much (he goes always to belgium or holland, ehrmm most of the time). i was checking flyticket and it's only about 80eur (there and back) + ticket 4 a gig is cheap allright (even possibility to buy ticket for a single day). but then, where the fuck is hasselt (is it far away from brussels), what about accomodation (or would i have night train or bus to brussels's airport after gig)?

still... he's not confirmed.

i don't think they have night trains in belgium... hasselt should be about an hour or so away by train from brussels.

maybe i'm blind, but i don't see lee ranaldo (or "renaldo" for that matter) listed on that link. did they change it or should i look elsewhere?

haven't check the link, but from what sonicl sent, it's seem they're planning to.
