Just combine the two of them and get the most uptight, preachy sidelong crescendo of all time.

No. The last albums by both bands, I think, took their sound as far as it could go. I'm glad they're both on hiatus.

I wouldn't mind a new LP by both bands but i guess it's ok that they will never exist.

a silver mount zion always sucked. in my opinion godspeed should have split up after the slow riot for new zero canada EP. & fugazi's last record was their worst.

The Argument is amazing. It's the only album I listen to by them anymore and the only one I felt the need to own when I sold all their cd's last year. "Full Disclosure" "Epic Problem" and "Ex-Spectator"
make it worth owning. |

13 songs and repeater were always my favorites.
waiting room was the song that changed my life. it made me interested in finding music that wasnt grunge and exploring punk and hardcore and the 80s alternative scene.... thats why when i joined here i liked fugazi much more and used their name for my user (its also in my email)

yeah, Le Fly Pan Am rules. N'Ecoutez Pas is a fantastic album.
That said, I don't know if any of their records could top F#A#infinity , which is my favorite album by GY!BE (and probably in my Top 5 ever) |

I never want another album by Godspeed You! Black Emperor/A Silver Mt. Zion/Fly Pan Am/Set Fire to Flames/whateverthefuckelse Efrim & Co. are involved with ever. I think the world's had enough of that masturbatory apocalyptic "omg da gubberment is corrupt we all iz dying in da masheen's belly" post-rock shit.
Fugazi, maybe. |
