it's out already and i have a copy. been out since somewhere last week, that's when the museum bookshop @ Haus der Kunst in Munich finally got it, and they're affiliated with the publisher. So fuckin great. Two seveninches, over 700 pages of mindblowing sonic goodness! a must-have. even if you've already seen the exhibition, since it doesn't depict the artwork from sensational fix but broadens the scope with a clear emphasis on text. ohmygod.

Kim's piece is called 'Song for reverse Karaoke', which is just her vocal; i didn't recognize any reference to an existing song as i was cooking curry when i first heard it this afternoon. on the flipside is lee's piece, which is a very enchanting demo of 'Rats' with acoustic guitars and reduced tempo. the other disc (clear vinyl, the other's black) consists of Thurston's 'Aerosol' which consists of noise (white...not technically i guess, but well...the same noise going on for 3:10, like that noise track on 'trees outside the academy' but even more 'minimal'). on the other side is steve's piece called 'Ivan' which is a nice little lofi-impromptu or whatever which made me put on SYR#2 right after it ended and it was in good company. great stuff, all four!

right you are. i dunno about the limitation of 600 copies though. there's no mention in the book or on the website of the publisher and it sounds strange for such a big exhibition to have only 600 official catalogues...i hopefully will know in about an hour when my brother drops by for dinner (he works at that store i mentioned and has been in contact with the publisher about that book several times.

since i got it as a christmas present (it should have come out in november...) i got it for free, but the publisher and bookshop-chain Walther König list it at €58, which isn't too much in artbook money considering what you get.

I think I've ordered it from the publisher. I say think because the website is in German and I've been spending a lot of time Google translating and just... hoping.
