I can't believe he's gone. I came across the Best Of when I was 15 or so, and it was a steady companion through my dark adolescence years. That voice, those words...they are a part of me.
I haven't been thrilled with the production on the newer material, but the songs themselves are so good they overshadow whatever misgivings I've had with the computerized treatment. He still gave it his all, even when he could have just coasted on his laurels. A true artist, and there are so very few in this world. Now there's one less. We are poorer because of the loss, but richer because of the work. We'll miss you, Lenny. |
