Going to new york next month and hear that it gets insanely humid in the summer. What's it usually like in June? The official weather sites say it's 'moderate' but they're usually wrong.

I wear longsleeve shirts and pants in 80 or 90 degree weather, although I often roll up my sleeves.
You dehydrate much quicker naked than full clothed in heat. I don't know what June is like in London, but in this general area of the US (Pennsylvania, New York, surrounding states) it is incredibly humid. The humidity makes the heat much much worse. |

duh, that wasn't the reeeeal spiderman. that's just, like, the symbiote taking over his body and stuff, and keeping him hydrated and stuff, duuuuh.
are the new york nights just as humid as the days (keep in mind that i'm coming from louisiana, where it's humid all year round)? i'm going in july.

I'll be finding out in about 3 weeks.
I'm hoping it'll be a cool summer and won't get above 85 degrees. Maybe even foggy 60s.

65 is even cuter. Longsleeve T-shirt weather is my favorite. It's been known to happen in the middle of the summer here in the northeast. Back door cold fronts ya know !!!!

that's awesome. i would love to be able to wear some longsleeves this summer. usually, down here, it gets to the point where people want to start not wearing clothes at all.

Val-holla-ing. There are some nights where it is very humid hot and muggy, but there are other nights where it gets nice and cool.
I'm speaking very generally though of what I'm familiar with of New York State, Pennsylvania, and surrounding states during the summer. I haven't recently been to NYC, but it should generally be the same. |

All bets are off. there is no pattern to the weather in NYC the past few years. I would bring clothes that range from slighty cool to frikkin' hot.
Hey, if you're here the right weekend, you can check out the Lambretta Jamboree. Quote:

Sounds about right, we get heat waves in June (and April and May and Sep) but Jun is generally nothing like the brutality of Jul and Aug - what makes it so tough is the heat hangs at night coming of the cement and also every car and apt and building is blasting waste heat from the air conditioning...plus there is alayer of grease and shit that builds up. Summer is awesome, the students and fashionfucks flee and I get my city back. yeah. "my" city. I found a circa 1775 handmade storage box in my grandmother's house today. She's being evicted. at age 85. |

Hey tesla....whereabouts in the city do you live ? I'm in West New York, NJ. Wierd...i wonder if there's an East New Jersey, New York ? 1775 huh ?....House been in the family that long ? It's incredibly sad to have folks evict elderly people...unbelievable. where in the hell do they think your grandma will go ? They obviously don't care. Sad. Seems to be quite a few NY'ers on this board. we ought to have an SY board meetup. maybe at the McCarren pool this summer !!
