Are there any other passenger trains that run through the US? All I can seem to find is Amtrak, and they can't give me the dates I need. Anybody know?

there are more local services but i used amtrak when i was there and it all ran like clockwork.

Amtrak seems fine and all, my wife really wants to take a train to Chicago on our anniversary weekend and Amtrak isn't coming through for us

hhmm i dont know what to suggest really. try getting a bus to the nearest place that an amtrak train goes through.

Yeah, we'll figure something out. I wish it was more like Europe, where there is a train leaving everywhere and going everywhere at every moment
