Hello, people!
I'm looking for an album that sounds like Experimental Jet Set Thrash And No Star. ...not in de oevre of SY offcoarse(I've got all their albums) but from another band. Sonic Youth!! If you're reading this, may I suggest to make a follow up to Experimental Jet Set Thrash And No Star or an accoustic album, would that be great!! Best, Jet S. Thrash |

Yee-haa - I'm not the only one who wants to hear an acoustic SY album!

Hmm...I suppose it is their most acoustic album. Never thought about it before. If you dig EJSTNS like a lot of us do, try Bee Thousand by Guided by Voices. It has a similar amount of variety and features many short, catchy songs.

Creating an accoustic topic!
Downloading GBV! ..Yes, the variety of EJSTANS and the way they sort of dissected the songs and smeared it all out, its's sounds so transparant, open. |

Have you tried Trees Outside The Academy yet?
Get yourself down to your local record store and buy it now! Downloading is not an option, you must have the full package! |

Trees Outside the Academy is an excellent album. It's THE album I wanted to hear after Rather Dissapointing Ripped.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that, but then it's not a proper Sonic Youth album either. And this is nothing to do with the fact that it's a little too glossy for my ears, just not as up there in terms of songwriting as other Thurston Moore-related stuff. Still enjoyable, though.

kim's old side project Free Kitten might be worth a try, as might these:
Royal Trux - Accelerator Solex - Vs. The Hitmeister Smog - Julius Caesar Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted Guided By Voices - Alien Lanes ESG - South Bronx Story The Slits - Cut Raincoats - Raincots |
