Streamed it once - only one opinion...
OR is hauntingly beautifull. I've been dying to hear a SY track with use of an acoustic guitar for long again. Other tracks need more airplay to m ears. But I find the whole record pretty interesting. |

Pretty short record, I think the longest song is "Pink Steam" at just under 7 minutes but most clock in around 3:30 on average I think. I really love the drumming in this one, and "Rats" is a kick-ass song.

Splendid. I get to hear the whole band doing 'Pink Steam' at last.
edit: Fantastic. Now I want a copy of the LP even more.

I feel really disappointed. I thought Thurston said Rather Ripped was going to be a really rocking album. Rats, What A Waste, Sleeping around are my faves off Rather Ripped right now. Maybe the other songs will grow on me, I just really wasn't expecting this kind of album.
I hope the songs are more energetic and noisier live. |
