I own this album for months now and I had it on my computer even months before, and I already loved it but it's keeping on growing on me and growing on me higher and higher. This album is beautiful. I think it is my favorite drone album ever. Everything sounds so great, and I really LOVE that kind of nocturnal, out-there atmosphere. When you put the disc on your player, you're getting into this atmosphere for 80 minutes and you don't get off until the disc stops. It's just like you're drowning in the sound, living in that sonic bubble all around you.
And even the artwork and packaging are great (I do own the CD edition, not the original LP one, but well). Masterpiece. |

yeah, to my mind this record & birchville cat motel pretty much set the benchmark for contemporary drone stuff

the album is mind-blowingly good. i only have it on my ipod because last year it was impossible to track down a copy of it (i wanted it on vinyl). perhaps things have changed now. it is an amazing, amazing album.

definitely one of the most masterful and defining albums of the decade; just amazing interplay and beauty and darkness destilled into sound.
it runs around your mind and hides from you like it's scared to leave. |
