"Aug 19, 2008 A 21-year-old Sonic Youth live recording is finally coming to CD. The band's Hold That Tiger captures the noise rockers playing 1987's Sister (DGC) from end to end at a show in Chicago that same year. It also includes a handful of Ramones covers as an encore. The album, available for the first time on CD, was also digitally remastered for the format." Weird, huh? Considering it's been on CD since 1997. What's the deal with this? |

Hopefully, they remaster it cause the old CD is really dated. Not to mention slower/faster

Sonic Youth Inks with Matador
Sep 10, 2008 >>send to friend >>get news in your email New York's leading indie-rock band inked with one of New York's leading independent label. The band, which revealed it parted ways with Geffen last month, inked with Matador Records, the label announced yesterday (Sept. 9). The label plans to release the still-untitled follow-up to 2006's Rather Ripped (review) (Geffen), early next year. Matador scored worldwide rights to the new label, except for a Japanese release. "For Matador, the opportunity to work in partnership with a group who?ve made such an profound impact on our roster/hometown/collective consciousness was one to jump at," the label said in a statement. |

Yeah. I bet most of us have it on CD. I bought it like 8 years ago in a chain store. It wasn't really rare or anything.

Yeah, it's one of the few actual silvers I have (in my ridiculously massive collection, er ,excuse me--couldn't resist)...paid, i think eighteen bucks plus tax for it.
Be nice to have it speed-corrected though. somebody should write 'em...I now have an aversion to aversion.com |

the "hold that tiger" CD actually went out to all 'current' members of the sonic death fan club when it shut down for good circa 1998.
though in a way, the spirit of SONIC DEATH has really just taken a new shape, as this very website...
