Ppl here in the U.S. are actually killing their wife and kids than offing themselves because of foreclosure or losing jobs or whatever. Just curious. Do you ever worry?
I must be retarded. My biggest worry is if I look fat. |

Killing your kids, fair dos, but your wife? She could get a little part time job or something, help pay her way. Maybe even knit you a tent once your homeless. Women are useful like that.

I have two jobs. One pays 5.50 an hour and the other is around 7 an hour. This is a golden age for the freelance dishwasher.

i'm glad i don't take my jobs too seriously, i've worked with people who really care about their shitty meaningless job and have their whole lives revolve around it. i'm always worried what would happen to those people when they lose their job, but then i stop caring because those are the types of people who will get mad at you for really stupid shit that effects nobody

Hey, artsygrrl! Long time no see!
No, I don't worry about things like that. Yellowstone is going to erupt into a supervolcano very soon. Worry about that instead.

It's pretty fucked up, eh? For some people, this "financial crisis" is the end of the world.

I dunno, I have saved tons of money and I still worry. Having money or job security or whatever really means nothing to me. There's always some new worry.

You know, that almost makes me happy on some level. Here I am, as skint as ever, plodding along quite happily. There they are with their new BMWs, trendy house in the Cotswalds, a wife with fake tits and a perma-bright smile - all purchased on credit so they can live the illusion. I'd like to see some of them lined up at the job centre having to fill in countless forms so the government knows everything from how often they drink to the size of their penis. I wonder how they feel being told they have to go work at a fish factory otherwise they will lose their dole money. What do you mean that is beneath you? You're a bank manager by trade? What use is a bank manager to society? No, I think gutting fish is the new career for you! I'm not vindictive, I just like people to know how the world really works. If this despairs anyone enough to shoot their family then that can only be good for the gene pool? Man, that sounded bitter. I'm not bitter, I don't envy these people anything - either today or three years ago when everything was 'rosy'. |

Everyone gives me shit for working at wal-mart. And I admit, I hate it there. Fortunately, it's probably the last place in the world to start laying people off... They are cutting hours though, I'm pretty sure for the first time ever in the history of the company. Sign of the apocalypse.

I like my job. Nothing much is expected of me. I can go home and chill for eight or nine hours every day. No blackberry, no calls from Dave in sales, no working at the office all night. I don't take on debt because I don't like to be indebted to anyone and I certainly don't like some tit with a business diploma from St Martin's College above me. I started out on that route and it sent me mental, so I work in a secure (though underpaid) low responsibility job feeding lawyers sandwiches.
The important things to me are reading, music, visiting galleries, taking photographs, being in control of my own time. I grew up in one of those households where dad worked a very high-powered job away from home just to keep my mum in her pretty little house with her three holidays a year. Now they have two houses at opposite ends of the country, five or six cars and never see each other except at weekends. They don't read, haven't got into any new music since they were sixteen and are completely ignorant about absolutely everything that isn't to do with the manipulation of money. Now I'm sounding really bitter. They don't even visit when they're in my city! Someone hug me! Nah, I'm alright |

deadrockstar - yeah you got the right idea. Punch in, punch out, fuck 'em. Why didn't I think of that when I became a teacher? I also like my job, but seriously, every Goddamn thing is expected of me. Still love it.
atsonicpark - I know you tell everyone who gives you shit to fuck off. WTF, at least you've got the 'nads to get a job instead of sucking our welfare system dry. ...and GeneticKiss - Luv ya back! |

Yeah, everyone in my family and my girlfriend tried to force me into college or some other nonsense I didn't want to have anything to do with and I dunno. Fuck it. I know they care but.. I dunno.
