The album Marquee Moon by Television.
Obvious suggestion.. I know.. but it fits what he wants. The album Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse has incredible guitar interplay, I can't think of two guitar players with more raw chemistry than Danny Whitten and Neil Young

Malice Mizer, the Japanese band
Baroque Bel Air Shi no Buto They only ever did a few guitar songs like these, but when they did they were great. And a lot of what they did was stolen from Classical and Baroque music.

Felt (Maurice Deebank and Lawrence era; might be "wimpier" than what you're looking for, but great chemistry just the same)
Chameleons (80s UK ones) Bardo Pond Kinski and , um.....Judas Priest. |

- Every math rock band ever. (but the best ones to listen to would probably be A Minor Forest or Sleeping People)
- Every "post-hardcore" band ever Just listen to Sweep the Leg Johnny. |

While Vermonster might not be the ticket, Magic Hour or Major Stars very well could be.
Wayne and Kate are a very very good combination. |

This is a good one. Live double disc. Also, Swervedriver for mini-epic guitars.
