I'm in the market for some new ones. I could go for the classic of classics, the lacoste, or try another brand.

Who else besides Lacoste makes a good one these days.

Ralph Lauren makes good ones.

I have one that's original and 5 that I bought in Bangkok for one tenth the price of the original one.

Funny thing is, the quality's comparable.

Lyle and Scott.

You'll end up looking like a twat though. Just go to American Apparel.

Lacoste make the best ones. They are the best and love the male body.

This is so true. I went out and bought five a couple of months ago (Chemise ones, not the silly American version). I'm having an absolute love affair with Lacoste right now. And its reciprocated!

actually, if I were British, i'd go for Fred Perry. There's something attractive about that brand ... or maybe it's just the fact you can't get it in my country.
it sort of symbolises British fashion to me.

Demonrail, over the past couple of years I've checked out a hell of a lot of polos. I've found TWO brands that are any good: J. Crew and Fred Perry. The latter is harder to find and more expensive, at least here in the states. J. Crew makes very classic, traditional polos that fit slim. Another advantage with J. Crew is that there's never an ugly logo visible anywhere on the outside of the shirt. Logos ruin even the best polos, I think.

Whatever you do, buy your polo in a slim fit. There's nothing worse looking on a guy than a baggy polo. And do not--DO NOT--wear a tee shirt underneath.

Also never ever tuck them in, unless you wanna look like an office-cubicle geek.

about 4-5 USD / each ,,,

sorry, I misunderstood. I've had a couple of wine glasses tonight already.

anyways, yeah, the airfare was pricey, but once being there, I couldn't miss the Chatuchak market and the hidden gems revelations.

Fred Perry too. Another label dedicated to making the male body look smart. Good call, slavo.

Fred Perry ones are nice, but they have vague subcultural attachments then tend to undermine their otherwise classic neutrality.

Regarding the 'slim fit' issue. this is kind of inevitable even if I get them in xxl, I'm afraid.

I'll check out the J. Crew ones.

I'm surprised you see no beauty in the (Chemise, it has to be Chemise) Lacoste ones.

Ugh, stripes. No! Bad example. You want a solid color, my friend.

Lacoste are okay in terms of fit and design. Don't they usually have a logo on the breast, though? That's a pet peeve of mine. I don't wear anything that bears an outside logo, aside from my Jack Purcell trainers.

I generally also tend to stay away from bright colors in polos. Safe bets are navy, dark or sage green. A white might work, depending on what you wear with it. But stay away from yellows, pinks, pastels. And those fucking stripes!

Stop that, they make fine shirts. And I do love the cultural thing attached to them too.

Fred Perry and Lacoste have logos you should wear with pride.
