fuck... holy shit.. that is a lot of crazy chemicals that is in our food. I mean I am aware of these things, but this is sort of like a moment of clarity.. I couldn't post 15% of the chemicals from this list of additives because it is enormous..
perhaps the Mothers of Invention were right, "all the artificial colors and ingredients in the food are desensitizing the spirituality of the masses.."

And since all these additives can be found in products made for the stomach, they must be good for the lungs, too!

Why do you list the food additives with what I assume are percentages, e.g.,
< 0.0001FDA, but you don't with the cigarette additives?

this was a cut and paste thread in a hurry, you'll have to check the link and get those percentages by yrself... I also don't smoke anymore, but what was surprising to me was that when I smoked, and I smoked winstons or american spirit, true taste either way, the tobacco I smoked had LESS additives then some of the food (even fresh like produce) I still eat... Kyrie Eleison! I am most concerned with pbradley's comment, is any of this good for the belly? Rasta say NO! "chemicals in the food, to control population" (steel pulse) and again with the the Mothers of Invention, ""all the artificial colors and ingredients in the food are desensitizing the spirituality of the masses.."

Still the explanations of these additives being present in foods is poor justification to be used in cigarettes. |

food additives are there to prevent spoiling, to prevent discoloration, to prevent clumping, or any of a ton of conditions in which food would be un-appetizing or dangerousn to eat,.
the additives in cigarrettes howveer, are there to either make the shit tobbacco taste better, to increase the BURN so gics do not put themselves out (sulphur and phsphorus, excaltly like in matchheads) as well as chemicals to add extra nicotine or to bind with the vtar and make it stick to the "filter." it is bullshit. that is why I stick with premium cigars.

my friend. I am well versed in the standard FDA/Food Industry pitch regarding these additives, its just I never went down the list before, I have naively trusted the Ingredients listed, but many of these chemicals are not listed in the food specifically when they are used but just as blank terms like "preservatives/artificial flavors" looking at the list of chemicals would scare even Bill Nye its so damn complex, read off the names, it sounds like magic fucking words! Rasta say these things are frightening, and we go Ital and greatly restrict and limit our consumption of processed foods, but a lot of these chemicals are used in fresh produce as well, according to the FDA uses explained for the tobacco purposes.. BY THE WAY these additives are in tobacco for the reason of the consumer taste. Do any of you smoke true taste? If so, you often have the misfortune of going to the wrong store and getting an old/stale pack of them, and it is just nasty. These chemicals are added to tobacco for the same reason as breakfast cereal, to extend the shelf life of the product from days to years if necessary. Smokers HATE stale tobacco, and so the industry obliges with this scary list. go and read it for yourself, what intimidates me most about that list is not that its in cigarettes but that it is even even fresh foods like breads and produce! alas alas..

Hmm, bag of mahatma long grain rice. must have some phosphate of some kind to prevent moisture.

that reminds me of a cool pisa I worked with.. one day in the office the TV is on and there are some synchronized swimmers, of all things, terribly boring stuff, but this guy is just mesmerized by it. He leans over and tells me with a coy and mischevious grin (and a damned speedy gonzalez accent to boot!) , "do you tink the water smells like pussy?" (with an extremely over emphasized pronounciation of pu-ss-y)
