fuck. I was just at this and spent my whole time at the Lanois installation.
I didn't know Lee was performing, thought it was just some video stuff.

And he was just around the corner...
It was pretty spectacular... he had the guitar hanging from the pulley rig, swinging around, stopping it with a bow and a drumstick, tons of strange noise... I've got some photos, but haven't downloaded them. They're dark (didn't make it to Lee until midnight) but it was definitely a spectacle. Leah's video loops were interesting, but I'll be honest - I was paying more attention to Lee and the occasional punctuation of the 2 gong players... It was definitely engaging, and people were sticking around longer than I'd seen at a lot of the other installations. |
