A friend needs dome blue tapes for a release.
I suck at searching for blue tapes, apparently, most of the places I found online have "sold out" blue tapes. Help? possibily in europe, so shipping wouldn't take too long/cost too much... tenc iu

Sorry I don't have an answer for you . . .
but, I do have a question of my own. Where can I buy a new cassette player. I have three boomboxes now - all in varying stages of decay. Once they've passed on, I'll have no way to hear the awesomeness of my mixes from the 1990's. Please help.

Thanks for the suggestion, SG. Yeah, I think they still have a "stereo" department (which is dominated by PDA's, digital recording devices and other moderna now-standard items). I'll bet a get a sweet rippin' boombox!

don't know what to tell nukefit, but you can get all kinds of boomboxes (in various states of (dis)repair) at Goodwill.
I've seen 100's of them lately. |

OK - I guess I could keep that in mind as a final option. But - I actually have two or three of those, banging around the house. I just anticipating the day they finally stop working. The door is falling off - some of the buttons stick - but one of 'em still sounds great. Little by little I'm acquiring the music digitally - but these mixes - some of 'em will never be recreated (I labored over 'em - splicing things togther from one tape deck to another). On one tape - I strung together, like 30 minutes of guitar solos only! I don't have the digital equipment (nor the time or inclination anymore, actually) to do something like that again. However, I still do enjoy listening to it.

i buy mine from a place here in vancouver: http://www.wimmedia.com/ they have everything you could need. you could also get a bunch of white tapes and spray paint them blue, thats what i do as it gives a nice effect.

As a consumer, I absolutely love purchasing music on blue cassette tapes. The pink ones are quite enjoyable as well.

the coolest casette tapes I've ever seen though came from my Japanese pen pall when I was a teenager.. she would post clear colours with nice plastic slide and click cases. so maybe try searching online for Japanese suppliers or Asian in general. I had a quick look with no luck but only spent ten mins or so..

Thanks, that was my first "choice" (also because that shop comes up easily on ebay too ) but according to the the text of the ebay auctions the blue tapes were sold out at the moment... I'll ask the guy to gimme a shout when they're back in stock. BTW, jb suggestion about painting them with spray sounds pretty nice, I'm a bit unsure on how you're supposed to do that (like, "disassemble" the tapes, paint the plastic, reassemble?) but sounds fun and the results could be cooler than a "regular" colored plastic cassette...
