I like Pepe Le Pew quite a lot, and of course the interplay between Sylvester and Tweety is always a joy to behlold, but I think it's Wile E Coyote who makes me laugh the most. It doesn't matter how many times Wile E COyote flies head-first into the side of a cliff, it's still howlingly funny. And I call myself an animal lover. Tschh.
4,000 posts. Legal stuff, from my lawyer: My client Mr Priest has been forced into some placing together of characters due to the ten-option limit. Mr Priest is more than aware that the character 'Tweety', for example, more than merits a sole listing. Furthermore, Mr Priest fully acknowledges that the matter of which fictional anmiatedLooney Tunes entity is the 'funniest' is a wholly subjective concern and that the poll results do not in any way invalidate the existence of the less popular characters. Mr Priest respects all trademarks. That's all...Folks.

hahaha, nice touch with the "Thats all.... Folks". I love looney toons. one of the best cartoons ever made. i do love the coyote, but bugs has always made me laugh te most frequently, what with his smart-alec remarks to everything. another great character was foghorn leghorn, and the wole "grammas farm/house" scene. (i mean scene like..group)

Daffy Duck toons, especially the early ones, are the funniest.
It was usually Daffy with Bugs or Elmer and Porky or both... |

Congratulations. What a great way to mark the occasion.
Foghorn Leghorn for me, although Bugs would come a very close second. |

Hip Priest, you're right about Wile E. but dead wrong about Sylvester and Tweety. That fucking bird needs to die and Sly always fucks up. Sly fucking up always ruined my Saturday mornings when I was a kid.

How 'bout the original (before the series) Duck Dodgers in the 24th century cartoons with Daffy & Marvin the Martian?
Bugs and Marvin were good too & I believe there were a couple with Bugs & Daffy & even Elmer & Porky as well with Marvin. When I was really young, my favorites were Sylvester & Tweety and also The Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote. the ones with Daffy & Porky might be funniest of all.

It's human nature that we see others as Daffy Ducks and ourselves as Bugs Bunny. That's pretty much my world view, anyway.

I love Looney Tunes, the classic stuff can compete with many live action comedy films, there are some really classic animated shorts done by the fantasic legendary Chuck Jones.

I've always loved Elmer. Especially when he was featured in one of the Gex games and happened to be one of the characters that swore. Back then I found that hilarious for some reason.

I read that the character of Yosemite Sam was created because it was felt that Elmer Fudd was not a strong enough enemy for Bugs Bunny - indeed that he was so dimwitted and pleasant that Bugs' treatment of him amounted to bullying/abuse. Yosemite was a much more an acceptable target of humiliation.

I went with the Roadrunner cartoons.
I remember, not to long ago, when cartoon network would play all the looney tune cartoons. Tom and Jerry was also a favorite of mine. |

I loathe Pepe LePew. Always did, always will.
I like Wile E Coyote a lot, especially the ones where he talks; he has that "sophisticated super-genius" way of speaking that perfectly complements his utter buffoonery in failure. I love Marvin Martian/Daffy Duck, and certain phases of Bugs Bunny. The old, super-offensive racial stereotype cartoons are favorites of mine as well. Whoa. "Porky In Wackyland" is one of the most psychedelic pieces of animation ever, and it's from 1938! |
