Go on... indulge yourself, which movies have you seen recently, what are your favourite movies, who are your fave directors, actors, scriptwriters, cinematographers, which genre of movie do you enjoy the most etc. etc............
I saw Romance + Cigarettes the other day and really loved it... it's a stream of consciousness musical that shouldn't really work but somehow does... in fact you could say that it totally deconstructs the musical genre, which is fine in my book 'cause I'm not a fan of musicals. It has been put together in the grand tradition of rule breaking cinema in a mainstream context and I adore it for that... it's a true piece of American beauty... anyone else seen it?

I'll stick to a few favourites.
Movies: Pi (wonderful), What to do In Case of Fire, Noi Albinoi. Also Rosencrantz and Guildernstern Are Dead, Three Colours: White, Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, The Luzhin Defence, Dog Soldiers, Dangerous Liaisons, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Versus, Public Enemy amongst others. Actors/Actresses : Tim Roth, Jean-Hughes Anglade, Julie Delpy. Directors: Krystoff Kieslowski, Darren Aronovsky. A lot of the films that are my favourites are fairly recent debut features, so it's ahrd to say about overall work. The guy who made Noi Albinoi sid it might be the only film he ever makes as that's the one goodstory he's got so far!

Trust me Inhuman, you will love SLC Punk. It's the classic, well known punk movie. & I totally forgot about Empire Records. Maybe 'cuz I've seen it 20 million times. & I would like to see the Wu-Tang Clan movie as well. Have you seen the movie "Coffe & Cigarrettes"?

Hip Priest...don't worry. The guy that did Noi Albinoi has recently done another film. It's called Dark Horse I think but it also has some alternate title I can't recall. It played at a film festival that I volunteered at but, alas, I was working on another film when it was on. Noi Albinoi was great though. (actually, the guy who directed it is also in some Icelandic band...slowblow I think....they were in that documentary about Icelandic music...Screaming Masterpiece.)

Coffee and Cigarettes is great, but I hated SLC punk. I thought it was just so ridiculous. The only thing really good was the soundtrack. I think Hackers will remain Mathew Lillards best movie.
Trainspotting is a good watch though. It is the only movie I could ever take seriously that related to AIDS. I can't take Philadelphia seriously because so many people say that it is such a good touching and sad movie. Some of my favorite movies: Psycho, the Shining, Dr. Strangelove, A Shot in the Dark, The Graduate, Lolita, Catch-22 (almost as good as the book), One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (the book was better, but still good), Annie Hall, Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex but were Afraid to Ask, The Good The Bad and the Ugly, Temple of Doom, Empire Strikes Back, Clerks, Rushmore, Gattaca, 12 Monkeys, Eraserhead, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Blazing Saddles |

I'll check Coffee & Cigarettes out sometime this weekend! I've seen Empire at least 15 times as well, I know nearly every line to it by now, but I haven't watched it in ages. I'm seeing SLC punk this weekend because my girlfriend is obsessed with it, and I've heard tonnes about it! Thanks! |

Actually I think that I enjoyed it more than Dogville... but I'll have to see it again to really decide. I'm looking forward to the final part as well... I've heard there will be a different actress playing 'Grace'.

Thank you! This had completely passed me by. I've just found mention of it online, andtomaoorow I'll se if it's on DVD. It was an interview on the Noi DVD where he said it might be his only film. He talks about the band, too - I think some music in Noi is by them. Thannks again.

I like SLC Punk and have since it came out. I don't know why, though.
The only problem with the movie is that every fucking little stupid punk clique has to have some douchebag named Steve-o in it now.
