The west. East-coast is way to fast-paced for me. The further west you go in America the calmer everything is. If you go too far south it gets a little nasty though.

For nature, West.
For urban, East. I like the fact that the drive times between cities are so short as well. Pennsylvania is also one of the most naturally beautiful states I have been to, so the East gets points there too. |

I have lived on the east coast my whole life, DC is becoming too boring for me, partially cause i live in the MD suburbs i don't go downtown that often, let alone I don't know where the hangouts are, NYC was nice when i visited, St Marks Place and Williamsburg were very fun but i really couldn't see my self living there, I hate going to Pittsburgh, the Penn Turnpike is the worst road i have ever been on, (two lanes, toll, jersey barriers, hardly any exits, and crazy fucking truck drivers)
the West was the nicest area i have ever been too, Long Beach was like Ocean City. MD on steroids, Sunset Blvd was extremely cool, but pricey, Portland was very green and very quiet, it doesn't seem like a major city at all, Seattle was the best though, 1.25 for a bus ride, close to 100 thai restauraunts, more record stores, all they need is an NHL team and i am there |

And what the hell is up with allowing semi trucks to have THREE TRAILERS out there in Pennsylvania?
Shit's crazy, especially when they pass you on a windy day. |

I'm from the southeast, but I like the west; however, not for any of the cities you mentioned in the poll. I'm a fan of Montana, but it gets too cold. I also like the northern part of New Mexico. Probably has something to do with my love of nature. The only state that does it for me in the east is North Carolina.

Honestly, I'll take Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City and St. Louis over all of the cities mentioned. |

I want to go to Chicago and Minneapolis pretty badly. I'm thinking of trying to book myself a midwest tour next summer.

I'm not sure what coast, I've been to both and they were both cool. I've spent more time west, but the east was awesome (NYC, Philly, NJ) and we saw alot in a short time, so we didn't have much time to explore. |

Agreed, except for St. Louis, which I hold a long standing and never ending grudge with.
