i've went in the reverse direction: when i was younger i was interested in mixing drinks; now i'm strictly opposed to it... the hangovers are unbearable...
beer one after the other is great... just make sure and have two pints of water when you get home... |

it also makes me feel restless as opposed to pleasantly inebriated |

i marked all because i love all of them as long as they are good quality.
but if i had to pick one to take say to a desert island it would be red wine, something like a cabernet or pinot noir, which i drink daily in small amounts and occassionally in very large ones. my favorite cheap red one currently is smoking loon-- a lot of pleasure for a $7 bottle. up in the heavens is of course the glorious chateauneuf du pape which i don't get to consume very often. i recently tried my first organic wine and though it was a bit light for a cabernet it was quite good and of course the whole bottle was promptly downed. anyway, for hard liquor my favorite is gin, bombay sapphire at the top of the list, followed by scotch whiskey (there are many, blends and single malts, i have good memories of glenfiddich and talisker for each kind), and then a good vodka (i tend to favor stoli); a well-made tequila like herradura gold is always a beautiful thing, and a nice nice rum (tanduay? definitely not bacardi) is perfect to spike eggnogg and make desserts. excellent rums are great to drink on the rocks but they are rare and pricey and hard to find. i love also bourbon, and there is a battle in my mind between wild turkey and maker's mark-- i know there are better ones but they reside in a land beyond my budget. and that is that. and i gotta go. have fun everyone & enjoy your booze. |

im a fan of red wine and wild turkey bourbon .
though since bourbon either has me chasing people with knives or running around stark naked i try to drink rum when i do drink hards . nowdays i drink old milwalkee beer when i have money . which is much more rare than im alright with . |

oh before i forget-- those of you allergic to wine might want to try organic varieties as they are very low in sulfites.
now i *really* gotta go... |

Whiskey, beer, tequila & wine mainly. I can safely mix any two of the above, any more & I'm fucked.
Oh, and a little potin from time to time can be a laugh. Never do shots of brandy, turns your stomach the second it hits. Any absinthe fans? |

beer, for now and always.
vodka has always been an abusive boyfriend in my experience. beats me up, leaves me for dead, revels in fostering self-doubt in my fragile mind... fuck you, vodka. no wait...don't leave! |

I picked beer just over whiskey because I don't drink really whiskey as much as beer nowadays. I always drank whiskey (Jim Beam is my shit) on the weekends in high school......a bottle was easy to dispose instead of having a big ass bag of cans. I'll drink anything on earth pretty much unless it has milk in it. Fuck a' milk and booze.
