beyond having no talent is complete idiot with a massive ego.
Just thought I'd clear that up for the people who are gullable enough to like him. |

I thought this was going to be like ted_kennedy's "nas is a better lyricist than Dylan" thread.
Great observation, Eyeball. I never agree with you but for some reason I find myself concurring with you now.

I mean ever since I first heard people blabbering on about him I watched a few performances of his on tv and heard a few of his songs. Complete fucking garbage, I can't believe so many people gravitate towards such bullshit talentless rap superstars like Usher and Kanye West. Jurrassic 5 and Outkast ( at times ) are the coolest new hip hop acts out there right now if you ask me.
The funniest thing though was i read that he jumped onstage when he didn't win some music award and claimed he deserved it. He should get an award for turd of the year, ha! |

Madlib is still my favorite hip-hop artist. Wu-Tang is close.

Neither of them are new, imbecile. My favourite rap group* has broken up, and frankly, there isn't much rap that appeals to me. Only a couple I can think of... Atmosphere, members of cLOUDDEAD solo outings... *cLOUDDEAD

I like the Kanye song "Two Words". I have a burned copy of the College Dropout. It has some okay/decent tracks, but most of it isn't any good.
Outkast is much better. |

Political hip-hop/rap is warranted, in my books. MTV hip-hop/rap is ghastly shit. Although that Golddigger so is fucking catchy.

but what is the line between political and MTV rap. Example CHamillionaire's Ridin Dirty. Fairly commercial sounding but deals with social/political issues such as racial profiling and corrupt cops.

Check out anything MF Doom has done for some great rap/hip-hop, including his numerous collaborations. I especailly love DangerDoom, his project with DJ Dangermouse. Awesome stuff.

OutKast will be alright now that they got their blockbuster hit and their movie out of the way. Then again, Andre Benjamin has "Class of 3000" that debuted on Cartoon Network this month. I haven't seen it yet.
http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/tv_sho...e/classof3000/ (heads-up:site has flash & music intro) A little while back, I saw Kanye West on some Def Poetry Jam thing and he was quite horrible. Lou Reed was on too and it wasn't very exciting either. |
