Yes you should, that way your mates wouldn't have to ring complete strangers to contact you. But it needs to be sewn into your coat on a piece of elastic.

It's cheaper if you can master telepathy.

I don't know where I'd be without my almost daily texts saying "buy some milk on your way home".
(Somebody in this thread will at some point make a joke about a phone vibrating.) |

Of course you should, but not if it means work calling you all the time. But you can just not tell work if it's a problem. Mobile phones are a great thing.

Yes, because people that prove difficult to contact piss me off, unless they don't want to be available.
People who refuse to embrace modern technology, yet want to enjoy all the conveniences that accompany it, irritate the hell out of me. You can't complain about being out of the loop or inaccessible if you don't make the effort. I blend the best of both worlds - I have a cell phone, but I simply don't answer it, as I generally abhor casual phone conversations. But there have been a few nights on deserted roads with car troubles that have absolutely necessitated a cell phone. IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE. Do it for us, Porky, so we needn't worry about your safety. |

Mine is always on silent, and yes the world is full of people constantly looking at, playing with or shouting down their mobiles.

Let me rephrase that. Does everyone have a right to be armed with a cellphone?

I've never had one.
I hate hearing people talk on them whilst riding public transport. I don't have a problem with the technology though, and have had a few occasions crop up where it would have been conveient to have one, but never a "true emergency." I don't like the idea that they have GPS devices inside them. I won't buy a car with one of those fucking things in it either. I like being unavailable and somewhat less trackable when I leave the house. I would have one if it were my only phone, but I have not had to break down and get one yet. I'm holding out. Silent ring people rule. |
