Nice!
Incidentally, I found that lone thread a lot more awesome than anything in this whole board right now. Very happy to see that another one of those guitars has appeared, just like that. Lee must be happy. Hopefully others would follow. On another note, Sarah Lipstate's gear was stolen from her car a few days ago... |

that's fucking awesome
i doubt i'd ever see the one that was stolen from me years ago. i know the fucking asshole roommate of my girlfriend at the time fucking swiped it. it was a fake fender strat, but i ended up ripping it all apart and did a total custom paint job on it, i got a matching fake telecaster as well. it's not that hard to spot. but after the maybe $200-$300 worth of work i put into it and with a totally custom paint job. i bet some fucking asshole dealers he traded it for oxy's, i bet took $5 can of spray paint to it and fucked it all up. i literally wanted to knock the fucking shit out of this prick. the cops cant do a thing about it, so it wouldve been worth it to knock out his teeth or break a finger on the little fucker. i'm still pissed off about it, and this was damn near 3 years ago that happened. but it's good to hear this news. |

Good news about Lee's guitars. On a less positive note, a message from High on Fire:
“Matt Pike’s Les Paul guitar [pictured above] has gone missing from a Santa Rosa studio. The color is Tobacco Sunburst and has Matt Pike signature pickups and the case has PIKE written on it in large white letters. The serial number is 92462499. Please be on the lookout for this guitar. If you happen to be in a pawn shop in the bay area or see something. This guitar means everything to Matt. If you have any information on the guitar, please contact info@thersegroup.com.” Not sure how helpful posting it here is, but it can't hurt. |

From page 6 of that forum, Thurston's white "Dr. Pepper" Jazzmaster (Serial # -- 126646) was on ebay a few weeks ago, refinished unfortunately, but still banged up(?!). Started at $0.99, but withdrawn, supposedly Sonics are on the case. Sale allegedly originating from a pawn shop in Compton, California but ebay page in French and saying something about the Netherlands. Makes me wanna figure out which shop in Compton it is and go ask 'em about any unusual guitars this weekend, I'm sure I'd get my ass kicked... SYG board should engage in a thrilling international espionage and recovery operation to bring down these guitar criminals!
edit: So I figured out the english page for the pawn shop, but I'm sure they're spooked if they just had a guitar recovered.... http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=..._dmd=1&_ipg=50 --- Re: Jazzmaster Experts--Questions About a '59.... by samytv » Tue Sep 04, 2012 12:40 am Thurston white jazzmaster was on ebay two weeks ago. I called Lee and they were trying to recovered it. I don't have fresh news and I don't know if the guitar is back or not. http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/Vintage-...item25748861c1 |
