i've had the breeders digest cd since it came out and still isten to it loads. be great to hear the rest of that gig. and i never got the safari ep, although safari is one of my favourite songs so thats wicked, and i only have head to toe on vinyl (with no decks) so getting that on the cd works for me too! off to amazon edit: oh, its out monday. cool |

if only for nostalgia's sake, yes, I am. seeing it when they come to town with the jesus lizard, television, sleep, lightning bolt et al for atp's halloween party, so they'll be really fucking out of place which should be hilarious.
I honestly couldn't tell you when I last listened to last splash, or the breeders at all, probably not since I was like 14. always preferred them to the pixies, I just find frank to be such a twat, his music is not nearly as interesting as he perceives it to be. both sy and mbv did the whole melody/noise thing much better in that they integrated the two as opposed to having them coexist alongside one another. the breeders on the other hand were so unpretentious and infectious. sooooooooo looking forward to drivin' on 9, and cannonball of course. |

I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks, and yes I'm very excited for it
Loved the Last Splash album, and in fact I still do. But never gotten to see them live yet. Breeders on Wednesday then Neil Young on Saturday in the same week !

I think the Breeders are a better band than the Pixies, but only because the Pixies released so many mediocre filler songs on their last two albums. I don't think it's fair to write off the excellence of their best material based on that , however.
If they had continued to given Kim the play time she deserved, they would have been goddamn glorious. Her voice was their secret weapon, and They didn't even know it. Oh well. I don't listen to the Pixies anymore either. I just overloaded myself on them when I was a teenager. They had become irrelevant and unreliable to me by the time I was 21. Now, I listen to one of their songs when it comes up on random playback, but never a full album. |

just returned from seeing them, it was definitely worth it. Too bad they didn't sell any records at the merch desk though....
