F'real, I find it totally bizarre that people aren't up for it, especially when you actually start a band and then even if it is good people aren't that bothered about pursuing it and seeing what can be achieved.

Dude, that is a deceptive proposition. For a starting band? To navigate the complexities of mangled/modified tunings AND minimalist harmonizing guitar work? Why not just ask them to win the NBA Championship or 22 Olympic medals like Michael Phelps
