Japanese trio, boris, have released two new LP's titled "the thing which solomon overlooked vol. 2 and vol. 3"! Most of the copies were taken on their 2006 European tour, but somehow Conspiarcy Records (conspiracyrecords.com) got a hold of a few hundred copies. If you're a fan, you may want to shell out the cash for these now, because getting them on ebay is going to be a hassle (they'll probably go for over $100 US a piece).

yeah, they only made 1000 copies of each for the tour. about 300 or so of those went to the online store or something pick up 2 of each if you can, and sell them on ebay. you could pay for a small child with the profit you'd make. |

That's a really good Idea actually, thank you. I'll get myself 2 records of each, then use the money off selling one to buy a record player so I can play it, I need one anyway. |

So it's € 28 for both lps? I'd like to have a bit more information on how it is going to sound, though. I mean, they are quite various in sound.

it'll probably be on the more mellow side of things, i think. when i saw the cover, their name was in lowercase letters, which means that it'll be a softer experience than, say, "heavy rocks". yeah, it's 28euro for both lps. not bad considering they'll be going for upwards of 50-100 USD a piece pretty soon. |

i just wrote a review on the new Boris album 'PINK' for a magazine. I liked it, but from time to time the 'messy production' on the rock tracks put me a bit of. It does sound raw, and i like that. Put i do prefer their monumental drone tracks, just because the sound is better... So i take it that they just like that way of production, i dunno. But thats why i said it will sound messy...

well odds are, these two new lps are gonna be very drone-y and not very heavy at all (when the name is lowercase, it's calmer. when it's capitalized, it's HEAVY). but yeah, i do get a very raunchy feel from the production on "pink", almost the same way i felt when sleater-kinney's "the woods" came out. i think it has alot to do with the way the drums sound. |

mabuta no ura is indeed amazing. the japanese version isn't as great as the brazilian version, though. it's just not as cohesive. |
