I got mine out from the attic today and it won't work on any of the TV's in my house I remember my mum buying it when i was about 5 and i would spend hours playing it, i had some great games for it. Sonic the hedgehog Fantastic Dizzy Toegam & Earl Toegam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron The Ren & Stimpy game Mega Bomberman Most of these games i never completed as you couldn't save anything with a memory stick, so if you died that was it, you went back to the beginning. I never got another game console, i had the mega drive all through my teens, but rarely ever played it. Anyone own one or used to own one? |

All this nostalgia has come from spending time with my aunts step children who are 7, 9 and 10.
They have an X box and a Playstation 2 and were asking me about what games i played when i was their age, i said there really wasn't much around then, so i would read or get taken to arcades, then i got a Sega Megadrive and i played with that. They had never heard of it and it made me feel really old. |

My friend Dylan had a Sega Megadrive, I went over to his house when I was about 7 and played on his games. Then Playstation 1 came out and our lives began.

thing is, you might still need that tv/game switch that came with the system so that you can screw it onto the terminals.
I doubt that that the back of those boxes accept the output cable from your game system. |

God, this thread makes me feel old.
My first encounter with home computer gaming: Not exactly Resident Evil, I think you'll agree. |

The Megadrive, and Nintendo's SNES, were both good machines. The Megadrive's reputation was ruined somewhat by the fact that they handed out game licenses to anyone who turned up at the door, so there was a load of rubbish released. With the SNES you had a much better chance of finding a quality game, and I think that's what turned us into dedicated Nintendo fans.

YES YES YES
I LOVE the Mega-Drive, Sorry for being all annoying and retro but I have one and I love it. Rven the name sounds cool. The look of it everything it, just everything is awesome. But what I love more than anything is the Mega-Drive music. PS I got the one with the added MegaCD attached.

I had a Genesis, (Mega-Drive, whatever!) that was awesome. I had a bunch of the Sonic games, I had the first 3 Mortal Combat games, and I had Streets of Rage 2 (I think it was 2) which was killer.
