I'm having a bit of a clear-out at home, part of which involves disposing of CDs and vinyl that I don't listen to any more. I always used to just sell them to a Music and Video Exchange in London, but I've decided that this lot I'll sell online instead.
Please help me to decide what site I should use by letting me know what sites you look on when you're shopping for music. If you use a number of different sites, the poll allows for "votes" for more than one option. Thanks. |

Hello. Can't really help much here (no personal experiences in selling things online), but:
if you have a price in mind for your items I'd suggest to go with sites that don't require a "fee" to post announces if you plan to sell "collectables" releases with a decent market value, then I'd go for an "auction like" thing. But if you send me a list of the things you want to sell (cds) I could help you in other ways . ha ha.

In my experience with selling recorded media online, Amazon works best for CDs and gemm works best for vinyl.
Musicstack's customer service (from the musicstack people to the sellers who use their site) far surpasses Gemm's, but they also charge a little bit more. Musicstack also has less "one star" sellers trying to get 287 dollars for a common used CD that should cost 4 bucks also. They screen pretty thoroughly to make sure you're on the up and up, which the customers like. Still, gemm is a pretty great resource that gets a shit ton of traffic. |

Ever check out secondspin.com? You can find used cds and dvds dirt cheap on that site. I've used it a few times.

I've bought used stuff successfully on discogs.com a few times. It is a thing where you can catalogue your collection but you can also buy and sell stuff like on gemm. It's not as messy as gemm (ie there aren't nearly as many sketchy sellers trying to get $200 for something worth pennies as on gemm) but I'm not sure how much, if at all, you get charged for selling stuff. Worth a look I'd say.

There's also the option of posting a list on a certain forum and seeing if people want to take stuff off your hands...then maybe selling the rest on one of the above. Just a thought.
