I love this fuckin' band. It's a band from my early teens that I can still love every single time I listen to one of their records. Especially Sky Valley and the Circus Leaves Town.
Favourite record?

Blues for the Red Sun.
Sky Valley comes pretty close, though.

Blues For The Red Sun for sure.
I love the righteous riffage of this band, but sometimes the vocal stylings can be a little much for me. |

sky valley is by far my favourite, however blues and circus are both good albums and wretch is just plain average.

It's not needed. It's not a QOTSA thread.

few people have come close to do a song as great as demon cleaner since kyuss, and none of those people include john garcia or josh homme.
sky valley for the aforementioned song. |

i also second sky valley. it's the first i heard, and i was actually stoned (a rarity) when i heard it so it's forever in mind.
blues for the red sun, i think, has more better songs, but it just isn't as cohesive (and it features a song or two i don't really care for). great band though. |

Sky Valley all the way- the heaviest rock album ever. garcia's vocals, homme's riffs, reader's bass, and the other one!
When you think about it they really were the COOLEST band around, no poseurs or egos, just some chillin cats jamming out some heavy as fuck sabbath inspired tunes. Imagine going to one of those mythical generator parties out in the desert they put on Kyuss are just totally unstoppable. |

I'm guessing this is a strictly personnal opinion but for me kyuss is some of the most awesome music ever tragically coupled with some of the most pony vocals ever. My suspicion is that kyuss ended when brant bjork and josh homme could no longer face john garcia crapping all over their sweet riffs....

God damn. So hard to choose one album, but I must say that ..And The Circus Leaves Town is their best record.
On a sidenote, I own a copy of everything (officially) released Kyuss. Vinyls and cd's and singles. |

^Awesome.
I like John Garcias vocals. I think they suit Kyuss to a T.
