Well, I like both personally (Combine the two and make Ground-Deep?) I'm buying the domain tonight and can hopefully get some of your reviews up in the next 2 weeks. The media at the end is because the site will be a community mainly focusing on reviews, but also packed with tonnes of other stuff. Let's get this shit up and running

i say drop the "media", it's like trying too hard to be pitchfork.
tough choice, both sound good, just without the "media" in it. |

I was thinking about the media part in relation to pitchfork myself, and yeah, it's a good point. I don't want it just to be "Groundwater" or "WaistDeep", they don't directly indicate what the site is pertaining to. Possibly something different yet similar. What about groundwatermusic? or waistdeepmusic?

i don't know, i like it to be a name you are not sure what's it about until you go there, the url at least.

'Waistdeep' forces a natural break upon the speaker, whereas 'groundwater' has a continuous sound, so I prefer 'groundwater'. The 'media' bit is a decision I would take on the following lines; do I want it to sound like a (semi)professional project or give a 'blog'-type impression? The word 'media' is suggestive of a certain weightiness.

say no to "media"-- media is kinda too wide & it has unpleasant connotations
"magazine" maybe? groundwatermag.com or something? i like the word magazine by the way. automatic guns have them too. water. magnets. did i ever post that i live 1/4 mile from a windmill that sucks out grand water? so i think of this differently. but anyway maybe i didn't post. anyway. i can't contribute anything so i just sit on the side & throw unrequested avice. |

'zine' might be a suffix that fits? Maybe not.

If you HAD to have the "media" part in the name, then "waistdeepmedia" sounds better, but I favour not having the "media" and sticking to "groundwater", as it rolls off the tongue quite nicely.

My doubts were justified.
