Suggest me some female singers/bands with female singers

So, yeah, suggest me some female singers with good/interesting voices.
something along the lines of:
beth gibbons, p.j. harvey, martina topley bird, cat power, sara lov, that girl from elysian fields, that girl from the knife, diamanda galas, carla bozulich, fiona apple, nico, elton john etc.etc. . I'm not searching for any particual style and nothing particularly obscure, just good music.

i can't recommend fairport convention enough!!!!!! i mean sandy denny era fairport; in fact, anything with sandy denny is highly recommendable.

also, if you dig the folky thing of charalam, fursaxa, etc. check out espers!!!!
