The new Antony (not that he's ever good anyway), Faust, and Neil Young are the only ones I've listened to this year that have "sucked bad."
I really haven't gotten around to much music from this year. |

New future of the left is pretty boring and bland.
That album Balf Qu... er. You know. That one band by that one album wasn't appealing to my ears. New Animal Collective is pretty boring. But it's got its moments, it's not completely worthless. I dunno, I haven't heard anything that sucked BAD, but I haven't heard a lot that blew me away either. |

New YYYs was fairly disappointing.
And, uh, not that I was expecting much outta Lilly Allen's last album, but... yeah, fuckin' noxious. At least her first had a few funny/catchy moments here and there. |

New YYYS was disappointing after Is Is, but Is Is was mostly rerecorded older songs. Still better than show your bones.
Hmm...sucky albums? Hush-Asobi Seksu, such a let down

The Birdy Nam Nam album is probably the worst album I've heard in the five past years. It's rare that I find an album completely worthless. It ain't got anything good. Doesn't even make me want to shake my head the tiniest bit, which is a shame for dancefloor techno.
I also hated the Neon Indian EP, Psychic Chasms, though I kind of like what they did with their voices, that kind of MGMT-electropop just ain't my thing - they'll probably be super-hyped when their album will come out. The Phantom Band album is overrated in my opinion. I kept on reading it was one of the best of the years and I didn't like it at all. Same for Pontiak - Maker. Other than that, albums that have disappointed me: Redjetson - Other Arms (I LOVED New General Catalogue), Condo Fucks - Fuckbook (okay, it sounds like Yo La Tengo having fun... but I just don't find it good), Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz! (there's like... 2 good songs on it), The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die But I think I've listened to roughly 60 albums released this year and this must be 10 bad albums, so I'd say it's not that much fortunately. |

I listened to the new Eminem album on myspace today just out of curiousity. Seems like he's trying to make the "Marshell Mathers EP" again, its not exciting.

the last song kicks major ass though. Anyway, "Repo" by Black Dice is not only this year's worst album but probably the worst album ever recorded.

Yeah, I forgot about Repo. I blocked it from my mind. I listened once, thought it was terrible shit, listened again while medicated and thought it was.. alright.. listened with a clear mind again recently and can't help but think, 'Wow, this band is AWFUL.' 3 dudes making random noises on a sampler, with no coherency or flow. Just a total bullshit mess.

The Bonnie Prince Billy album was awful. Gospel choirs are never a good idea except on gospel albums, and even then they're a bit on the shit side.

I listened to approx. the first 3 songs of that Black Dice album and then shut it off in disgust. Please tell me the whole thing doesn't go on like that.
It's like a less disturbed Wolf Eyes. |

I love the Black Dice album. Follows Load Blown's direction, which is fine by me as it is my favorite from the band and one of my favorite albums ever (yeah!)

why do people not like the eternal? its the first sy full length in a while that seems to try new things and pull them off.
sucked bad; new oldham (honestly, the first record hes ever done without one song that moves me, pretty sad considering hes one of the most gifted writers of our generation) future of the left, but they always sucked "balf quarry" is the best markers record yet, people will realize that after a few listens.

that article was a joke man. he listened to "psychotic reaction" the track, which is amazing, and then wrote an article about the six records they did after, but they never did do anything after, he was jst imagining.

IN MY OPINION... since I've refused to give it elsewhere....... I will give it this one special time... BQ sounded like an extended drum solo with farty guitar notes over top (which some idiot critic will call "jazzy" no doubt) and awful lyrics. Every song sounds exactly the same. And it's boring as hell.
