if I only use this board as an outlet for my frustration?
that's what I've been doing mostly, though more passively. anyway......... I turn 18 in less than a month. that's cool. I want to tell my parents to fuck off, but I'm too much of a bitch, and they have too much power and control over my ability to go do shit because I don't have a car and I doubt I would ever get to take either of theirs if I did tell them to fuck off (and getting a job and buying one at this point would be dumb because I won't need a car by August hopefully). (i wish i took that picture)

Alex, baby. Chill out. Take some Xanex and make everything better. What are your plans after you graduate this year?

Well that sounds like fun. I'm tripping major balls right now but I hope everything works out. If you're ever frustrated you can always message me and I'll listen. K, babe?

Go ahead and use this board for that purpose. I mainly use it as an outlet to post opiate-fueled rants. Have fun.

Thanks, Hayden. I'm just sending some digitally bottled messages into the internet ocean. I'll be okay.
End of March = acceptance letters, and all my friends have finally fooled me into believing I'll get accepted everywhere. It's just a matter of time. Thanks, Adam, too.

Replace opiate with any of a wide variety of intoxicants and that's what I use it for. Alex, I'll be getting in touch with you soon. I plan on taking an adventure to California sometime in the near future from New Mexico. Peace, love, and mushrooms.

I don't even start posting on here until I've overdosed at least 3 times.

Hell no, I don't mind, and I'm sure no-one else does. It's a cliche, but you're 18, and have so much to look forward to and do life. Hayden and Nefeli have the right idea - take it easy, have fun and remember that there are many possibilities for you to pursue. I hope that everything works out the way you want it to

I recommend it! Don't take your parents too harshly, unless they're really nasty and abusive, man, they're freaking out as much as you, parents often have a hard time making the switch from post-adolescence to young adult. |

don;t think about it as your parents having too much power over you. That is a childish sentiment you will soon outgrow. Think about it as just another transition, and be open to any possibilities. Just because you cannot "go do shit" right now does not mean the opportunities to "go do shit" only exist RIGHT NOW. Just some slightly relevant advice.

yeah, as much as it might be a pain in the arse to hear this just wait it out re: your parents, it will fix itself (probably, provided your folks are reasonable decent people)

If you're experiencing any more parenting than you usually receive, you should understand that your parents are, in their mind, losing a major element which has defined most of their adult lives. I didn't realize it myself until I left, but empty nest feelings can be tough. It's like "oh shit, now all I have left to do is die" for them. I don't know if you are an only or youngest child, but this occurs for older children leaving as well.

True true. My mom apparently has trouble sleeping until I get back home (with my father) from LA. I think she watches the news too much and is scared of the world. I'm the middle child. My older sister still lives with us, and next year we are both most likely leaving, thus leaving my 8 year old sister at home (which is really the only thing I don't like to think about when I think about going to college). They aren't necessarily more parenting recently, but as I've aged it hasn't decreased. I still am treated the same way I was when I was a freshman (more or less).
