my friend's kid has to answer this question for school and i have no idea what to tell him. i have looked it up on the internet and some people say yes and some say no. what do you think? help me.

Coca-Cola actually invented the image of the modern Santa Claus for a advertising campaign in 1931.
That´s pretty much all i know about the legend of Santa.

Here in Austria we have a so called "Christ Kindl" , translated - "christ-child".
i remember my grandmother saying: "This year there won´t be any presents, the russians shot the christ-child"

Sinterklaas really did excist. He was some priest from Spain who brought presents to children. And when he died this was the way of honorering him.
