I agree... in my youth i believed in the Kurt didn't kill himself myth until reality set in and i realized i was just in denial. I had always thought he died of an accidental "golden shot" overdose and that somebody blew off the head of his corpse as a cover up.

However this presents an interesting angle. If the Rome Incident wasn't a suicide attempt, it doesn't necessarily mean Kurt didn't later kill himself, but it does radically change the narrative.
