Yeah, go Astros for sure. Definitely no love for the Dodgers here. In California, I’m all Anaheim.

Of course it would have been better for me if Seattle had fucking snagged the wild card. Or if Boston hadn’t been eliminated. Fuck I hate baseball when it doesn’t go my way, which is always.

They beat the goddamn Yankees though, and Verlander is an absolute beast, so I’m hoping they take this thing. It would be nice, too, considering the year Houstan has had.

As a life long Astros fan, it boggles my mind (and sleep) knowing the Astros have the opportunity to win the World Series today. It’s difficult to close out a team, especially on the road......but it’s also difficult to overcome two separate three run deficits and that’s exactly what the Astros did in Game 5 Sunday night.

Many sportscasters, beat writers and commentators referred to Game 5 as a Weavyweight Championchip Bout. Twice the Dodgers knocked the Astros down to the mat, and each time the Astros picked themselves up and came back......just like Craig did against Deebo.

The LA Dodgers have scored three or more runs against Astros starting pitching in every game of this World Series. If Justin Verlander can go 7-8 strong innings holding the Dodgers to 2 or fewer runs......and Lance McCullers Jr. can come in throwing nothing but curveballs......the City of Houston will have its first World Series today.

Anyone in particular you are referring to?

Commentary was bleak during the Yankees series, but I think the Astros have been receiving favorable coverage during the World Series......especially on MLB Network. Just yesterday I heard Peter Gammons say Alex Bregman is one of the smartest players he has veered covered.

I don’t take much stock in anything Stephen A. Smith has to say, but this tweet comparing Jose Altuve to Barry Bonds says a lot.

Minute Maid Park has also been receiving favorable reviews. From the crowd noise to balls flying over the train tracks......the juice box has been looking good. Last week when Mike & Mike asked Craig Biggio about slick balls, Biggio responded: “I’m not a conspiracy therapist, balls round and hard.”

I think it is so stupid to focus on "juiced balls". both teams bat and pitch the same balls. there is no advantage to either team. This was supposed to be a World Series of low scores and intense pitching, but it has become an offensive slugfest!!!!

YES - die hard purist are starting to sound like the old man telling everyone stay off his yard. Speaking of Old Men, Reggie Jackson doesn’t want anyone on his grass. When asked if Kershaw and Jansen were still great pitchers, Peter Gammins replied: “yes, which makes what the Astros have done epic.”

Listening to Dodger post-game radio after Game 5, a caller bemoaned it never mattered that Dodgers / Kenley Jansen were 98-1 in save situations or that Kershaw had never lost a game when leading by four or more runs if the Dodgers can’t hold on to win in the postseason......especially when the Astros go with non-closer Lance McCullers Jr. who can come in and close out the Yankees season pitching three innings of relief to close out the ALCS. What the Astros are doing is unprecedented and the baseball watching world is seeing it firsthand

You know how we in and around Houston are always being told we have friendly fans and that the poeple of Houston are polite and welcoming, no matter the situation?

In the games at Yankee stadium the Yankee fans were chanting at various times , "Huricane Harvey! Hurricane Harvey!" bad taste.

In LA, Stros fans during game 7 left their ticketed seats and moved into section 32, where the players families and wives and such were seated, because the LA "fans" were throwing shit at people with children, beers, and possibly bottles of piss from what I have read online. http://www.sportingnews.com/mlb/news...51jgj52hhy4mdx

I have been to some big football, basketball, and biesbol games in HOuston and I have never ever seen a Houston fan act that way to an opposing team's fans. At worst there is profanity, but never aimed at the fans, just the team. I wonder why people do that shit?

I have seen soccer team fanss get fucking straight racist and shit in their stadium chants. why is that?

Oh well.
